This may be a long post so aplogies haha.
This weekend me and my friend took our horses to somerford park for the farm ride.
Now my boy is abit of a handfull at these type of things nothing crazy just gets excited.
anyway when we arrived i had gone a amazing shade of white im not scared of him but hes fully aware he is stronger than me and can be a right pain by just jogging or trying to run off and last year i had enough as he was just not listning to me and was becoming dangerouse to other rider around me so i made the decision to get off and walk back to the box and since then me and my friend have worked on him with his hacking out as this is is downfall he just gets silly and once while hacking on a field used by many riders in our area someone came flat out past us so my horse turned on a 6th pence and went straight after it and then past it on and across a main road i couldnt for the life of me pull him up so yeah we have worked on it and this weekend was abit like the final exam for him haha hes never been to somerford and there was a large bsps show on and due to the nice weather there were a few people about so i got on and we went down a track with in fields on the other side and one horse just went abit hyper and had a bit of a show off but my boy did not react just kept walking so we warmed up and he trotted at a nice speed no trying to run of ect then picked up a canted and it was a lovely canter then asked him to trot and he did not fighting or anything so we popped a fence and he was amazing just listend to me the whole way round he also was a lead horse in to the river for my friend as her mare was scared of the water but ever fence i pointed him at he went over including a brush that instead of going through we went about 3ft over i was so confident with him we took alot of it in canter and had a fair few gallops eeven when a lady went storming past he didnt even think about following he went past the show and didnt get excited im so over the moon with him hes not been the easiet horse in the past but its all starting to pay off now
