Hiya, havnt posted for a while heres a video of my little girl shes 6. Shes doing so well bless her we got this pony after a bad experience after a the last loan pony not been as nice as the owners said so, so after she bucked her off and and stamped all over her we got this pony last may and hes done her wonders. Not been out to much yet this year, been to some clear round schooling and shes gone round on her own with no help with remebering her course so very proud of her.
Ive just joined her in the local pony club and shes got her first PC rally on half term, shes very excited bless her. And weve got XC schooling tommorow round quite a well build course so will try and remember to get some pics tommorow.:D
Anyway heres them practising her cantering:

Ah thankyou, i love watching her ride it makes me smile the whole time.
And yes i already watch from behind my fingers now, so dread to think what ill be like in a few years when shes on some sharp pony jumping huge fences!! Now i know how my parents felt when i was a teenager and why they always told me to slow down!!!!;)
Will defo get somepiccies tommorow.:)
 
She looks quite content, I love the pony though he looks fab :D

I'm pretty sure someone could make a killling selling blindfolds for mothers, my mum would love one :p

LOL yes definatly on the blind fold thing. Even watching her the other day round a clear round and she was getting her cantering round it i wanted to cover my eyes. A year a PC and i reckon im going to need something at shows to calm the nerves!!!!

He is the best pony ever i trust him with her where ever he looks after her so much and hes only 7 aswell bless him, worth his weight in gold and probaly more types like him dont some along often!!!:D
 
Although I don't know how you feel I remember grooming for a friend once at a PC rally and they put the jumps up high for her son and she was physcially shaking watching him then had to leave the room! I feel sorry for inflicting it on my mum :P
 
Lovely pony and rider! He's very similar to my daughters pony she's nearly 6 but I'm too nervous to let her canter iv still got her on the lr my nerves can't take it although our pony is a little saint.....I'm dreading pc rallies we have just joined our local branch although I'm not sure how much she ll be able to do on lr! Might see u at some shows think ur local to us good luck for the season x
 
Yer i can imagine its gonna get a whole lot worse, shes still jumping tiny and really steady so its not to bad yet but once shes goes up a gear in pace and the jumps get to real jumping height!! Im really dreading it and am starting to question why i taught her to ride!! I brought this all on myself!!LOL. I do really enjoy watching her though and am a little bit more laid back than a more unhorsey mum as competed to quite high jumping myself!! But i it is all pay back i think for what i put my parents thorugh!!! hehe. It was definalty less scary doing it myself than having to watch her doing it!!!;)

Hehe give it a summer with you running at all the rallies and shows and youll want to let her off thats been me at the last 2 summers and my poor legs couldnt take it anymore!!:D Apparently they cater really well for minis on a LR at rallies ect so should think youll be fine.
As for the canter i found getting them to follow a sensible teenager on a pony a good way as least then the pony is guided round by following then the kiddie on top can concentrate on hilding on and posistion ect. And i ran lots next to my daughter while she started cantering but they get bored of that quite quick!!;)

Yer i live in Windsor and pony is based on the edge of runnymead, weve just joined bisley hunt pc!:)
 
I've been lurking on this forum for a week or two - I don't ride at the moment after a few years rest but I hope to get back to it soon.

This is the post that has compelled me to register - I used to teach kiddies and I loved seeing your daughter and her pony. They look like a great partnership - both of them making the effort - not necessarily at the same time but it looks like they'll be completely in tune soon . Not something I used to see often - despite my best instruction!!!

Good luck to them both and well done to you for getting them together

Really i will see you there then, well both be in group 1 then!! I didnt do the fun day or anything. I joined them cos i dont have my own transport and my friends daughter goes there and although shes in a higher group ill be able to get a lift in her trailer most of the time. Also wanted a to be part of a hunt pc, i loved mock hunts when i was hunger so whens shes bigger want her to do a bit of it! Are you going to the half term rally?
 
Yes she's in group 1 everyone was really friendly on our first day and encouraged her loads even tho our group lost because my daughter only done a few jumps and we messed the dr up...it was good fun tho!
I haven't entered half term rally yet as I'm not sure how much she ll be able to do I might give them a call and see if it's worth takin her, I've never been to a rally before it might be a bit fast for her.
they have training every sat so I ll prob start taking her to that I hacked past pc fields today and had a nose lol

The rallies are like training from what ive heard, and i think they put the children in similar groups according to abilities so should think she'll be fine. Its at Merist wood isnt it. Yer ive put my daughter in for the mini horse trials training when it starts. I would have liked to have dont the saturday for the mounted games but cos i work with horses too, i work most saturdays so it would be hard to commit to it every week. Cant wait for the nice light evenings apparently they do alot in the evenings at the feild so really looking forward to that.:)

They do seem to work really well together, he wont go for some children who have ridden him so think theyve built up a really good bond, he took 6 months to find, but im so glad i didnt settle for something less than perfect because he really is the perfect pony. And i really do love watching them, especially as ive taught her myself. I always used to chuckle during group sessions when I would be instructing the lead pony and then turn around to find someone at the back who had just wandered into the middle of the school - jockey standing there kicking away away and the pony looking at me going "what?"

These were kids of about 6-7. Brilliant! Some of them would never make it but their parents insisted!
 
What a fantastic little pair! Wonderful!

My daughter is 4 and has a long way to go yet but I will be delighted if she is that good at 6 - keep at it!!
