I'm a very proud neddy mum, I have bitten the bullet yesterday and decided to take my baby horse for a first hack of her life...
I was so busy planning my timings to avoid school run that I completely forgot it is half term

and coming back from work on Friday time might actually be a bad idea.
Chosen the most sensible (what do I know) of my other horses to put my groom on and nanny us around a small loop...
Well, the sensible nanny horse has decided to be an absolute tw@t! Napping, spooking and generally being pain in a*se.
My little girl has put him totally to shame! She gave him lead past spooky cars, barking dogs and dangerous puddles without batting an eyelid.
She was a bit apprehensive about the big outside world, but all in all behaved impeccably

She has a lot of admiration for flowers and young lambs

Had to have a good look and a sniff as well!

We met all sorts of traffic and Friday afternoon activity on our little jolly and came back home safely and on a high

And just because she is cute, a picture or two

Oh she a clever and beutiful girly

Isn't it amazing about youngsters that have been well handled! Little Girly raises hardly an eyelash at all sorts of things (she's three), whilst LC just knows it's all out to get him

Fantastic, at least you can say that you met everything now & there's no excuse for hack #2.
When we took Dolls out on her first walk (just lead rein), the 20+ horse we took to nanny behaved just the same as yours. I was utterly ashamed!!

It is quite strange isn't it?
I was doubly surprised as she is 3/4 TB and her dam is an utter cowbag to hack, everything is scary, there is always a reason to have a tantrum...
The sire wasn't the easiest either.
I'm not sure it's about handling though entirely... both parents were with me since very, very young age and somehow were impossible to convert.

Oh, well done. What a beauty and sensible too. Re your timing, you went with your instincts, thought the time was right and just got on with it. Think this is the best way sometimes, not too much thinking, more instinct and intuition. I did/do the same with my boy and he is fab too.
