Sorry for piointless post but I am very proud of my 22yo boy today!:D
He let me clip his legs today with no twitch :D he did have ACP's but less than normal so next time i will try first with no sedation at all!! It has only taken about 10years for him to finally realise i will not hurt him!! YAY happy day and the sun is out as spring comes in!!

Well done you. :D No wonder you are proud. :D But now you've got your boy behaving and maybe you are bord of having a good horse to clip. I could send you Horrid ;) Even sedated he climbs the walls if you run the clippers outside his stable nevermind try to get near him with them :( Didn't bother clipping him this year. Lots of work to do over the summer then maybe he'll be ok by next year, or maybe in 10 years time ;) :p :D :D

haha i am quite alright thanks!!:p That was how mine used to be and at 16.2 i never stood a chance haha. I am very happy though i hate sedating him but he gets mites if not done regularly.
If its any help we desensitised another naughty horse by running the hoover outside his stable for ages then a drill, then moved onto the clippers!!! Just so he got used to the noise, as that was what upset him the most!!:D

I'm glad Herbs is only 12.2hh :p But he is terrified of the clippers. He doesn't mind drills or anything else realy. I think he was beatern or something in the past while clipping as he is scared even before you turn them on :( He's so desprate to get away he realy does climb the walls. I'm hoping by next winter he will trust me enough and realise that i'm not going to hurt him.
The hover thing sounds good for horses scared of the noise though i'll have to remember that one. :)
