We did a long stretch of off-lead heelwork tonight on our walk, and not only did he do a couple of lovely turns (to get his brain into gear), but not one but TWICE birds flew across in front of us at nose height, and he went to go after them - then he didn't, with absolutely no cue from me either time, other than praise and a food reward afterwards! Didn't even have any food in my hand either:D

So proud of him, OK so we wouldn't have won any obedience trials (remember, spaniel heelwork is not expected to be precise, say The Gundog Club:D) but he has come a long way:)

Good for you guys :D

I'd love to say B doesn't go after cats/woolly jumpers without being told not to, but anybody who has heard me yelling 'SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITZ!' in a rather hysterical manner would tell you I would be lying :p

Well, let's just say the lead went back on to go past the rabbit warren a bit later on:o Once he's on the chase or hard on the scent, all is lost:rolleyes: You could dynamite the ground out from under him, he wouldn't notice!
