Had a superb lesson, my gorgeous 4 year old cob turned into a grownup proper horse!!!! So just a little proud post!

We are really cracking on now, he has such a fab work ethic and is a little powerhouse. Chuffed :D

We may well get to a show this year, I'm thinking coloured classes... What else to you think he could aim for as a 4 rising 5 year old?
In the long term he's my all rounder, he's already been XC schooling, hunting and loves a pleasure ride. He's 100% in these aspects and loves his hacking. Now schools well. What a dude
I'm not paitent with showing lol but if I were to show him WHAT IS HE? lol.

SORRY PICS ARE SO BIG!

Thank you Parker79, well me too really... but I do think it could be nice low impact experiance for him. He's a vanner X welsh cob... We will most likely stick to the coloured classes :)
He is suprising me, he is a very quick learner!

Hes lovely and I'm not usually a coloured fan per se!
How big is he? Maybe hunter classes although not sure re coloured in those? Workers perhaps?

He is lovely! Same age (ish) as my baby boy! I'm hoping he will be my little show jumper (inc small derbies - 95cm). We hope to be doing British Novice in the next few months, most affiliated shows have an 80cm schooling class first so hope to do that & get my 4 double clears and then start the BN.

Like you I want him to be a bit of an all rounder & we have done XC schooling (v brave with everything but HATES water  )

To answer your question... why not try a local dressage?
Prelim is just walk, trot, canter so won't do any 'harm'. I'm going to do some Combined Training classes with mine so he knows discipline and excitement comes together!
