My mare has just been diagnosed with PSD in both hinds and has started shockwave treatment. I just wondered if anyone has any experiences to share about its effectiveness and whether it enabled their horse to return to work? Thanks in advance!

My stallion had it as a foal, due to the growth plates, growing unevenly in his knees, he had, I think 5 treatments every 10 days, and it seems to have worked, his legs did straighten up and hes fine now, He is sound and ridable, (hes 5 now) I think if we had been in the UK they would of operated and put screws in the joints, but here (Spain) they went with the shockwave treatment..

Hi, my pony has was diagnosed with PSD in the right hind a couple of months ago. He had 3 shockwave treatments two weeks apart, the last one was Monday of last week. They had to sedate him for the shockwave as he didn't like it much.

He has just started walk ridden work and (touches everything around me that is wood!) is sound.

He is currently in week 1 of a 6 week ridden rehabilitation plan of 2 weeks walk, then 2 weeks walk and trot, then 2 weeks canter.
