psoriasis type patch on mane

Brandon came with what I thought was a 1" bite mark on the crest of his mane. It looked sore but was scabbing over. However, it hasn't healed after 1 month. I was grooming his mane yesterday and a large chunk came out with a white scabby bit on the end of it. The bald bit is still there and there is a white scabby bit all the way around it. Does anybody have any idea what this is and now to treat it? I've not noticed anything anywhere else and I don't think it's sweet itch.

Rainscald? Sweet itch? Difficult to tell without a photo or seeing it. Keep an eye out for heat, redness or a thin layer of pus on the scabs.II'd be tempted to wash it with an antibacterial or fungal shampoo such as universal vet shampoo (non prescription).
