Does mag ox cause ulcers, is not sweating a sign of PSSM or am I looking to deep. Pony was fine loose on the track with her pair pony, until she was ridden then started bucking but looked sound. So got a very professional saddle fitter to check the saddle. Saddle and bit fine. Took pair out to help the new pony settle welshie started to stand around more and began to look stiff and meant the bucking so treated as laminitis. Farrier and vet both ruled out laminitis or EMS still sore muscularly by the look of it and never sweats puffs a bit when hot and tried to lie in the puddle where her water was overflowed. Bit snappy when fly rug surcingles are done up. Any further ideas welcome vet stumped for now as need to get some weight off to see if it is a weight issue first

Is there any real reason why the tests can't be done while you are trying to get her to lose some weight? If she needs metformin, for instance, that would help with the weightloss, I wouldn't want to be 'starving' a pony which is already obviously uncomfortable.

I know she is young but I would also do a PPID/Cushings test, to cover all bases. I lost a young Shire mare to what I now believe to have been Cushings
