PTS: A question

QR: I am not trying to actually judge, but the situation has touched me and led to me asking questions.

I agree with the person who talked about small animal vets liking to keep animals going even when they have a terminal illness. Last summer my cat (who was incidently my absolute best friend), was diagnosed with myeloma which is incurable cancer of the bones. They gave me the option of trying to prolong his life with a drug that did not guarantee any results and would not have saved him, just prolonged his life for a few months at best. I could see he was suffering and I had him PTS which did break my heart, but in hindsight I am glad I made this decision.

I can see that everyone here wants their horse not to suffer in any way.

I know that the person in question (at an old yard of mine, which I was at a couple of yrs ago) displays little regard for her animals, and did not look into other options. I think he was seen as disposable with little thought, and that is what has upset me primarily.
