Ok so I am currently trying to do my lesson plans for my PTT. I have 4 books and none of them actually give examples of the lesson plans or really much help! So I am hoping someone on here may be able to help?

When it says to plan a 'open flat' or 'open jump' lesson, what are they looking for? Does this mean I can choose any subject? or open order? or...???

Can you have your lesson plans with you during your lessons?

Can the lesson plans be in bullet point form?

Would you use diagrams in your lesson plans to explain your wording?

Does anyone know anywhere that I can find a sample PTT lesson plan? Obviously im not going to copy it!!! I just want a sample one that will point me in the right direction. I have all the ideas, just not 100% on how to put it on to paper!!!

Any other hints/tips that may help? Anything could come in useful not even on the lesson plans but just generally any pointers?!

Many Thanks :D :D

I just did a google search of PTT lesson plans and it brought up loads of threads on various forums discussing lesson plans and suggesting books....

thanks :) will have a look. i already have 4 PTT books and there are no sample lesson plans. and the above questions are not already answered in there... was hoping someone who has already done their PTT will notice this and be able to help :) But will search and try and find other forums... have had a quick flick through already and they seem to be out of date as the syllabus changes yearly so hoping someone can answer the questions above. Also with the UKCC coaching certificate being included in PTT it gets loads more confusing!!! :/

If its similar to when i did my sports coach We had free rein to teach whatever we chose either lunge, flat or jump as long as it was constuctive and showed improvement in horse and rider.
The ukcc level 2 we had to put together a portfolio, part of which looked at various teaching and learning styles putting together 4 linked lesson plans to give a final goal looking at risk assessment, level of horse and rider describing how we would coach the lesson and defining the styles we might use.
We were observed and signed of by a qualified ukcc mentor coaching these 4, then assessed by an external examiner on a lesson of our choice, either lunge, flat or using poles. I think the open part is that its your choice what to teach, but you can have 2-4 riders. you might memorise your plan in bullet points, but i wouldnt want to use them as a visul aid, you can always ask. We were allowed a small pad if we wanted as drawing things as part of an explanation was allowed if you were teaching someone who was a visual learner. Good luck
