Hello all,

Just looking for your opinions....my horse has a slightly puffy fetlock due to a touch of mud fever on her white hind leg. It doesnt seem hot and it doesnt seem to bother her. Its worse after she has been stabled but noticed it was a little puffy when i brought her in from field. After cold hosing the puffyness seemed less noticable. I have a lesson this weekend and am wondering what your opinions are on riding a horse with this condition?

many thanks :)

I would rather ride to get the filling down than hose it if caused by mud fever, keeping it as dry as possible will help it heal, as long as she is not sore I would have the lesson, hacking her out for the next few days to keep her from stiffening up.

I would ride and see it is after, if sore then rest if not I'd continue as normal. I would do more walking and take longer to warm up, no jumping but if the horse felt good then it wouldn't stop me from cantering
