My Tb has a puffy near foreleg. It's been feeling a little thick for the past couple of days down the back from knee to fetlock but not enough to be noticeable, just enough for me to get a little niggling doubt. Then this morning when I pulled him out the stable it was really quite puffy.
I've trotted him up and he's sound and I can't feel any heat in it at all. I've chucked him out with boots on (so he doesn't bash it) and will put some witchhazel on it later.
If it was his tendon he would be lame and have heat in it wouldn't he?!
I've checked for little nicks on his skin but I can't find any, however to the left (outside) of his cannon bone the fur is all ruffled up and rough, again I've checked the skin under the hair and it's fine.
I'm not going to call the vet just yet, will give it a couple of days as like I said he's not lame.
Do you think he will be Ok? I rode him yesterday morning and he was fine. His field is very boggy though, especially by the gate and he does like to go running around in it
