I came across a Pull Net today whilst scrolling though Facebook.
I gather it’s supposed to be effective for horses that pull.

Can anyone explain how / why they work? Anyone used this with success?

I'm only guessing here ... but looking at the construction and images of it in use - as the horse tries to stretch it's head out to speed up the net constricts and reduces airflow. Or at the least prevents the nostrils from flaring so the horse cannot gain as much air.

If I'm right this looks fairly brutal. Hoping someone else on here knows different.

Do you mean one of these? http://www.equinesolutionsonline.com.au/nosebands/1276-pulling-net.html

I'm watching with interest as I've never seen these before (and did a quick Google) and it's interesting that this particular site has them detailed under racing tack, be interested to hear also if/how they work.

Yes, that’s the one.

The product descriptions say

“Used primarily to stop horses running away. Fits fairly tightly to the noseband sitting comfortably over the horse's nose.”.

“AN INEXPENSIVE SOLUTION TO AN EVERYDAY PROBLEM. THIS SIMPLE ATTACHMENT SITS COMFORTABLE OVER THE HORSES MUZZLE ADDING NO PRESSURE ON THE MOUTH OR NOSE AND WORKS AS A CALMER. IT HAS PROVEN TO BE EFFECTIVE ON HARD PULLING HORSES. HORSES COME TO HAND EASILY AND CALMLY,GIVES THE HORSE CONFIDENCE AND THE RIDER MUCH MORE MANAGEABILITY.”

I just can’t understand how it could have a calming effect unless it works on the same principle as twitching
