Hi

Well, it turns out she hasn't broken her splint bone, but she has pulled her hind extensor tendon.

Has anyone had any experience of this injury? The vet said it's a case really of playing it by ear a week at a time with this.

But on the up side, she loaded like a dream, I mean perfect, travelled beautifully, and behaved impeccably at the vets. Perfect with all that noise and smells and other horses. I'm so, so proud of her.

I'm sure everything happens for a reason, and I really think part of this was so I could see how perfect she is in new environments and travelling.

Thats just how I felt when my horse went to Horsepital for lameness work up and also to have a "joint mouse" removed from her front fetlock. Was also found to be lame on hind leg (inflamed tendon sheath) and she coped so well with all the nerve blocks, scans and xrays. Is sometimes a stresshead but the staff tol d me they wished all patients were like her. Shes adapted to box rest and I am so proud of her, just wish she could talk and tell me hows shes feeling. She also travelled on her own really well to say that once upon a time you couldnt get travel boots on her!

Hello,

My dressage horse had this injury about 21/2 years ago. It was awful playing the waiting game and the 50/50 odds but he is now back in full work and better than ever! He only jumps every now and then but he competes regularly and is out at elementary soon to be medium.

I built it up slowly and took a year for him to be back in full work but if you look after it right they can make a full recovery.

Do you know how your horse did this?! I have never know someone else to have it so would be interesting to hear the story
