pulling tails

I had to pull my lovely boys tail this summer and as he absolutely hates it so I invested in one of those rake thingy's, makes life a lot easier XX
 
I am sorry to say I do mine with scissors, carefully done by razoring it off it looks ok, though I really should do it properly. PLEASE don't dont take hair out of the middle, shot sides but LEAVE the centre of the tail otherwise it looks awful. Before a show I put quickplait spray on then bandage and it leaves you with a perfect tail.
 
ive got one of the rakes but ive never done it before. how would i find someone who could come out and show me how to do it. im willing to pay
