I have a pulsed magnetic unit that i got on phyiso recommendation for a horse a while back (for a back problem). In his case it didnt help, but then i dont think anything would have, so i have no clear experience of it working. Now my mare has a suspected suspensory injury and i am using it again (i have a leg wrap for it) but it is time consuming and i would like to be sure i am doing some good for all the effort!
So just wondered if anyone else has used one (or via a physio)?

thanks alot
alice

My pony is currently at a rehab yard being treated for a strained tendon sheath, the practitioner is using a combination of cold therapy & pulsed magnetic therapy, the swelling is greatly reduced & she is sound at normal trot up & only unlevel for 2 steps on flexion, on Monday she was literally on 3 legs, so a great result I think!!

thanks kizzywiz - glad to hearyour pony is doing so well. We are 2-3 weeks in and still some swelling on both legs (2nd one swelled up last week as i assume she is putting too much weight on it). But only a week since i started the magnetic therapy. I am assuming from the lack of response that not many people have come across it?
Scan tomorrow so then i will know more.

ps Kizzywiz - would be very interested to hear anything your practitioner has said about his/her experiences with pulsed magnetic therapy?
thanks

She is a great believer in the pulsed magnetic therapy, & has had great success with the TB's getting them back for racing. A bit down today as the leg seems to have gone backwards a bit, a lot more heat, & she is lamer. Seriously considering cortisone, but going to ask the vet if there could be an infection lurking, as the heat is tracking up the leg. He did say that these type of injuries can have their ups & downs.
