I still call her a pup but she's 14 months now!! I noticed a very slight limp on Monday evening. Tuesday morning I carried her downstairs out of bed as I always do and she was limping. I took her on a very sedate sniffy short walk and the more she walked the better she was. She was sound when we git back home after 20mins. She is really quite sore after she has been laying down but gets better with movement so I'm thinking sprain of some kind. We are resting her now, just on lead toilet breaks, no walking. I'm tempted to leave her another 24hours to see if she improves but then we are at Friday and probably won't get into vet until early next week. Will they only tell me to rest her anyway?

My pup had similar
Came in one night lame
Hopping whining when put weight on his paw (he’s a husky so dramatic)
He pulled a muscle went on pain killers and bed rest for 2/3 days and been perfect since

Great to hear your boy is fine!! She isn't crying or anything but definitely sore. Waiting for vet to open.

Mine did this and then it resolved itself almost as quickly as it came on. It came back and had her xrayed and turned out to be mild HD, with a really decent joint supplement and careful exercise it hasn't come back at all,but she is young yet, so I would maybe ring the vet just for your peace of mind.

Our lab presented with the same issue. He was 13months. Fine most of the time, just the odd limp when getting up. I convinced myself it was a strain etc. Vet said to me that if they are stiff after rest its usually bone. So we where referred to osteo vet. Who had a good feel and said he was 99% convinced it was elbow dysplasia . It was, he now has had both elbows done and so far hes looking fab. Really pushing as he walks.

Hope yours is much simpler, but if its the same dont panic like i did.

Back from the vets. Vet throughly checked her leg, shoulder and paw. No reaction at all so vet said strain/ sprain. It could take 6 weeks to fully go but should definitely see an improvement within 2 weeks. Luckily she can still go on 2 walks a day, on lead, and very steady for 20/30 mins. The real task is going to be keeping her calm at home when it's usually zoomy time!!
