It was on the radio in the car earlier - will probably be on the iPlayer - I heard a lady who runs a website against puppy farms, some moron saying they were ok and then various callers saying go to rescues, one caller had a Boston Terrier (didn't realise it was a from a Puppy Farm) who had to be put to sleep at 2 as it was blind and in agony from arthritis - had been bred from father/daughter combination........

The lady from the website explained about the poor conditions, the illnesses, heriditary problems etc etc but I didn't hear the start so don't know why it was a phone in subject - has there been something in the papers?

Good to hear an interest in it, I am currently researching the industry to see if there's a way of getting a ban, which website was the lady from? Have got a facebook page called Ban Commerical Dog Breeding if anyone is interested, easier to keep in touch with people that way!

Thatis just heartbreaking re: the Boston terrier

You may recall that my neighbour's BT--a pet store/puppy mill purchase--died at a young age over summer. She was three and had a huge seizure. She was bred for her unusual, non-standard colour, and "teacup" size (8lbs fully grown, whereas Stella is 16lbs and considered on the smaller end for a BT).

How anyone can justify the trade is beyond my comprehension. I can no longer walk past the many shops in downtown NYC that sell puppies, as it makes me too mad/upset.
