Puppy help!!!

Picked up my puppy Friday night and he has been sleeping in his cage really well just 10 mins or so of crying then sleeping right through! However last night he was really unhappy but did go off in the end but he woke up crying at 2 and 4 and I put him in the garden and he needed a poo! When I put him back in The cage he cried again!!!

Any tips, should I have left him? (I live in a terrace so am aware of my poor neighbours)

I think you did the right thing. It's difficult for young puppies to hold it in all night and you don't want to leave him in so long he gets desperate and soils in the crate. When he cries in the middle of the night pick him up, say nothing, take him outside, let him toilet and then quietly back to the crate. He is then likely to cry more for attention, but be brave and ignore!

That's exactly what I did thankyou, it's just he has been so good till last night, I might cut back his night dinner a little or give it earlier! Also as he was tired last night I didn't play just before bed which seems to help him sleep!
