Cocoa is now 23 weeks old, and is not only HUGE, but a total nuisance.

I adore her, but she is way too intelligent.

Even though she has two huge bowls of fresh water out at all times, she decided she preferred to drink out of the downstairs toilet (which has the cistern blocks in it, the ones that make the water blue), so to stop her from drinking from the toilet we made sure the toilet lid was always kept down.

Cocoa has now figured out how to lift the lid herself.

Cocoa has also managed to open the fridge twice this week, eating 8 sausages, 6 rashers of bacon, a tub of cream cheese and she was trying to chew a can of lager open when we walked in and caught her the second time.

What can we do to foil her plans for destruction of the household?

I was thinking baby-proofing equipment, but wondered if anybody had any other ideas?

How long is left she alone for when she does these things and how do you deal with it, once discovered? Have you tried things like Kongs and similar distractions to keep her occupied?
Is there somewhere secure you could keep her, or could you buy a dog or baby gate?
Oh, and was she not bloody sick after eating that lot? Sounds like my Sunday hangover cure

Others will probably be able to offer more advice, my dogs live outdoors so this will probably be useless!

im not sure what breed of dog youve got but...you could try and leave her in a cage for short periods of time or a puppy pen where she has abit more freedom...or as suggested, a puppy gate...you could make sure all the doors are shut esp the bathroom then she shouldnt beable to drin k from the loo

or could someone pop in for a while and spend some time with her while your out

when one of my whippet was a pup she used to be a bad chewer...all the kids toys and esp shoes and my other dogs collars...thank god shes grown out of it

good luck...shes sounds a handful and im sure you love her to bits...any pics

She is hardly ever left alone, the most she will be alone for is an hour or so, as my mum is a housewife, and i am currently out of work, so there is almost always someone at home.

We can hear her lifting the lid of the toilet, and have caught her in the act.

We deal with it by firmly saying No, taking her over to the water dishes and showing her the fresh water.

She is free to come and go from the house as she pleases, as we have a large garden that is securely fenced in.

She has lots of toys, and two other dogs here too, so it can't be boredom.

Am at a loss

She wasn't sick either after all the stolen food!

She is just a naughty little thing!
