Hey. I have a 5 month of choc lab and we have a problem were he is jumping all over the furniture.
We had him on the chair to cuddle him when he was small and we no this is the root of the problem
But he is getting very bloshy and jumping up onto us and just thinks its a great game.

How do we stop him from jumping up on here, its getting quite a problem!!!!

Would love to hear everyones adivice??

Thanks

You need to start and setting him some boundaries...........you have already made the mistake by letting him on when he was cute and small...............and now he is bigger he sees no reason why he should not be allowed to get on now.......You need to nip all of his exhuberant behaviour in the bud now before he gets bigger and begins to mature...........Every time he gets on the furniture.............take hold of his collar and remove him and if he persists remove him from the room....allow him to re-enter after about 5 mins and repeat the excersise......only allow him to stay in the room if he stays on the floor...............give him a bed to lie in and place him in it when u remove him from the furniture........Do not give him any attention.......Remove him swiftly and give a command i.e GET DOWN in a harsh tone.
When he begins to realise that he will be removed from the room when he displays the unwanted behaviour....he should begin to settle on the floor, only praise him with a quick stroke on the head and do not over do the praise.
Also if you do............Stop him from going up stairs/on the bed/jumping up/pulling on the lead e,t,c.......this is all linked to the begginings of bad behaviour.......remember he is a dog not a child......I know its hard when they are puppies but they do get bigger and can be problematic if let to get away with bad behaviour. GOOD LUCK

hey thanks for the reply.
he is not allowed to go up stairs, and we are sorting the pulling on lead coming on really well. he is fab otherwise does not toliet in the house any more completley toliet trained etc.

Every time jumps up on the furniture we are taking hold of his collar and say down but he is still persistant.
I think we are going to try the removel of the room thing.\
Thankyou for all your help. xx

Don't talk to him when you remove him, that's just giving him the attention he's after!! Just remove him, don't talk to him, don't look at him.

Also, make him think he'll get bored before you do - i/e if he's being persistant about getting on there, you're persistant about pushing him off.
