Hello peeps as most of you know i picked my puppy up last night.

She was on ready break so we bought ready break and also iams puppy food. so gave her ready last night but didnt eat much at all so this morning i gave her a wee bit of proper puppy food and she scoffed the lot but come lunch time she only had a few mouth fulls.

so was wondering if i should buy puppy milk? She is 6 weeks old.

Any suggestions?

(i know its early and she will still be settling in)But want her to eat something.

Six weeks? I thought you said eight weeks last night, IMO it is a wee bit too early for her to be away from her mum.

She is still only a tiny puppy so don't expect her to be eating too much, little and often is the key at this age, just bear in mind how small her tummy will be. Try her on a mixture of the Readybrek and puppy food to see if that helps.

Mother dearest tells me that was what we used to feed our puppies so it can't be that bad!

In days gone by we used to wean pups onto weetabix and goats milk. Then pet mince for the next stage, complete feeds are quite a new idea.
Your pup is very young at 6 weeks, how long has she been completely off her mother? I would continue doing as you are and mixing a bit of complete in with her readybrek, goats milk is good for pups, or special puppy milk, such as litterlac which you should be able to get from the vets. Check with the breeder when she was last wormed, and if she needs doing I would ask your vet for something gentle.
Pups often go off their food in the first few days at a new home so I wouldn't worry too much, as long as she is bright in herself.

you can try your pup on baby rice or weetabix her tummy is the size of a teaspoon so dont expect her to eat too much also has she been wormed? Dont feed cows milk it will give her an upset tum goats milk is better.

I would put her on a proper pup milk like skinners or lactulol. You could then mix it with weetabix but i would try and start mashing in proper pup food by 8wks old,by then her tummy will start to be able to digest it and she will be getting the nutrients she needs,i would still be giving the pup 3 small meals a day at 8 weeks, 4 small ones a day if under 8 weeks old.
