Went to my first puppy show yesterday evening. Was only a pre puppy show for Weds but was run exactly the same as a puppy show.
I had no idea they showed them loose, I for some reason thought they had them on leads, which considering they are hounds was a bit stupid.
It was really interesting to hear/see what they look for and I even managed to pick the winners of the dog and bitch sections.
How the kennel-man knew all of their names (he has only been there a couple of months) I don't no. One couple looked so a like ( a tiny patch of white on the neck was all that was different) they would of done well shown as a couple, I was told.

At the end they brought out some of the stallion dog hounds and the brought out their puppies to join then, it was interesting to see how a like they were.

Hopefully 2 of the hounds will whelp soon so we can have a couple to puppy walk.

Ooh, yay - puppy walking is FAB!!!  They can be hard work but they are sooo lovely!! :)

I get a bit bored at puppy shows... wouldn't be so bad but after the judging they always have the boring speeches from the judges *yawn*..... :p Bring on the wine and the sandwiches!

How lovely to go to a puppy show - generally they can be considered a privilege to be invited to and rarely can one attend something so quintessentially English.

Also it is a chance to see the 'new entry' - new hounds and maybe get to know one or two, as well as catch up with friends not generally seen during the summer season.
