Day 55. She is enormous, had so much milk and has had for days, and last night has weed, pooed and vomited everywhere.

Time to start sitting up?? I know it is too early but she is just so uncomfortable and I’m so worried she’ll go early!

She’s also biting her back teats, I think they are uncomfortable as just so full.

Oh I can’t wait for this to be over!!

Oh poor love. That sounds so uncomfortable. Hope she whelks soonest. Yes I'd be setting up my bed nest to whelping box. (Sorry no idea why I've gone bold!)

Yes v good point. I’ll go in and have a feel now. Been trying to avoid touching them. I’ve never seen a pregnant animal with so much milk.
They are a breed which typically goes 6-7 days early which would put her at Monday or Tuesday.

She’s weed, pooed and vomited again overnight. A lot of it is mucousy and hard to tell which orifice it might be from. She seems ok in herself but the puppy fetal hearts I can hear are between 180-200 which I think is a bit on the low side. I’ve got a call into the vets. Hopefully just being overcautious and she’s just too full of puppies to hold her bladder/food.

I’d love to take her temp but she won’t allow it and I’ve only got the kids to help me.

Did you do progesterone blood work on the front end of mating? If not then counting days is a bit irrelevant unfortunately as dog ovulation timing is so odd. Lucy had her last litter at 57 days post TCI AI.

Heart rates below 160 are a cause for concern, you're still in the ok range so try not to worry.

Temp is the most effective check for whelping to start but not much you can do on that front if she's a bit recalcitrant!

We didn’t do progesterone but she was only mated once so should make the dates pretty solid? Unless dog sperm lives a long time? I’m not sure!
By day of mating it is day 56 today. I’m going to start getting up every 2-3 hours in the night to let her out I think.

Nope. Semen lasts 5-6 days in the bitch. Dogs are weird!

Eta, eggs also take 48h to mature after ovulation so timings can be all over the place without bloods.

I'd suspect she may go tonight/tomorrow if that would be day 57

OMG so broody.

Loki would love a playmate, gah!!!! The old fun sponge spaniel is still going for now, so he might need to wait to the next litter!
