My dog is twelve and a half he's in good health but has some arthritis in his claws caused I think by being very keen on digging in his youth , by the beginning of last summer he had to be left at home if we where going out withbthe horses now he only goes short walks with me and he recently started needing to lifted into the car and onto the bed( don't tell me off I know they are not supposed to get on beds ).
He's my special friend incredibly loyal he will sit on the yard with me in awful weather long after the girls have slopped back to the house he sat on the lawn and howled when i was in hospital after and accident andhe sat by my bed for hours when I was in bed for months after it.
We have two bitches as well aged seven and eight , I was called today and offered a puppy from his line ( all our others are from this family ) I clearly would need to see the puppy which I have not done yet but it will be from good circumtances .
The pup would have younger dogs to play with so would not need to pester the old man for company and it would be quite easy in our house to make sure the old boy had quiet space if that's what he wanted.
So what do you think is it mean to get a puppy will he feel pushed out or is that me putting human emotions on it.
There are lots of dogs here all the time as the grooms bring their dogs to work and he's always happy to see others and has a nice friendship with my BFs springer which young and dog .
