so puppy training is going well so far (helped by the fact I'm working from home and so can leave for short periods and build it up from there). but I'm still getting up at 2ish and 5ish in the mornings. 2am is a wee, 5am is a wee and a poo. i go straight out and come straight back in, no fuss or cuddles but i'd like to reduce it to once! he came with CSJ food which I'm changing to Orijon slowly starting tomorrow. but I've been feeding him late but I've just re-read Caylas info and it says early? so i should be giving him his last feed early evening not 9.30pm ish like I have been? has this helped people? he doesn't have the runs he's just going frequently. he did manage to get a bit of cat food and I caught him in the cat litter tray when my daughter left the door to that room open :D but that was a one off! he's just 9 weeks and a cocker

I always was taught to feed at 8am, 12 noon, 4pm and 8pm with puppies - I would say that 9.30 is late to be feeding the last meal, so maybe bring that forward a bit? What time do you put him out for his last wee? I am wondering whether he is getting you into a bit of a routine - he expects to get up at 2am and 5am so has adjusted his routine accordingly. One of mine (an adult rescue not a puppy) did that, it wasn't until Cayla pointed it out to me that I realised :O :D

Nope in that case he definitely doesnt need to go out at 2am - ignore him if he whinges, he will have to learn to go through the night :) I know he is only small, but he can manage longer than 2 hours for sure. Otherwise he will just get in the habit of waking up at that time :)

Good news :) I know he is only a baby and of course you can't expect too much from him at this age, but small steps are good - sounds like you are doing great with him :)
