Proud mum alert...

We took our border collie pup for his first walk tonight...

We only walked around the block which took about 10 mins...well it took 10 mins as he spent the first 5 mins sitting down!!!

But he soon got the hang of it and as we were nearly home he was bobbing along looking very pleased with himself.

However as soon as he got home he pee'd in the kitchen...so he still has to learn that this is what walkies are for!!!

OH will take him out before bed, same route and hopefully he'll spend more of the walk...walking!!!!

I've also enrolled him in to puppy classes and they start on the 28th Jan...l'm quite excited :D

I noticed a thread about dry food and I've been looking at the eukanuba (or what ever it's called) is this any good for puppies? I get a 20% discount from work so it works out quite reasonable, or IAMS?

Well done on the first walk. Did you get him used to the lead in the garden first? If he goes on sit down strike just encourage him with your voice and gentle pressure on the lead, don't make it a big battle. Its probably a bit soon for him to realise he is to pee when he is on the lead, the best thing is to let him have a run off lead in the garden when you get back from the walk, giving him whatever command you use.
Not a huge fan of Eukanuba, think its overpriced, I like Skinners duck & rice or salmon and rice, its wheat free which seems to suit most dogs.
