I've got a leyland daf 45 130 turbo. Very nice lorry. Had it converted to my spec and it's been a saint. However, at Aldon , i saw one of those groovy renault horsemaster boxes and fell in love. Agent for co. brought one round for us to try. horses face rear, so a bit of a novelty. Saff waltzed up nice low ramp, fine. Close partition. Purdey (who leaps up the lorry ramp rather than be parted from Saff for a nano second) took one look and said "NO!". 40 minutes later, after coaxing and patience and carrots and taking saff on and off again ...Purdey still said no. So I had to say no. Now you may think that 40 mins wasn't long enough to try, but we know Purdey so well and when she says "NO" she really, really means it. She will NOT load on her own and she would NOT go in that gorgeous lorry. Also, we thought that even of we did get her in, we wd have to be so fantastically quick getting the split doors up, that we cd have a really dangerous situation on our hands as she cd easily decide to break free and fling herself out backwards. So it's back to the old faithful. Shame. My son and I really fancied that little box!! Anyway, Purdey only has this summer with us , prob, as Hen has nearly outgrown her..so next year...NEW LORRY! And Purdey will be put on loan. If it wasn't for the fact that she is the most brilliant pony when ridden, she'd be up at the kennels by now. Nah, don't really mean it....much.
