Hi I have been feeding this and using the easy feed for my eventer as he is a fatty and seems to cope with it. However, he is doing a bit more this month and has been a little bit flat. He is changing coat which always makes him a bit dull. I was thinking of adding something or changing to the working food by pure feeds. I don't want him fizzy and equally I don't want him putting on weight! Any advice greatly received.

Think this time of year with change of coat has a lot to do with flatness.
Are you feeding electrolytes?
Ive started adding some linseed for extra protein to cover coat change but have to watch as is fattening too.
I much prefer feeding plain chaff & Equimins Complete rather than a mix.
The general consensus if you have all the basics covered is energy is best improved by fitness including weight loss - much like for people.

I normally feed Pure Easy, but switched to Pure Working about 6 weeks ago for exactly the reason you described and it has worked a treat. He is not at all fizzy but has enough stamina for the job, whereas he was running out of batteries pretty quickly before. As long as you are not planning on reducing workload too much I would give it a try.

The beauty of Pure Feeds is you can mix and match as all same base. My fatty is usually on Pure Easy but use Pure Competition a few days before an event and he's now on the Balancer only as not in much work now and grass still growing. I spoke to Lou from Pure at Badminton as was worried that bags may go past their best by date and she assured me that they're fine for a good 6 months after expiry so no longer worry!

Another vote for Pure Feeds Working here. My traditional cob mare is very unenthusiastic, though obedient, on no hard feed, but I step up the Pure Working to give her a bit of enthusiasm for her work, as is needed. It amazes me how I can adjust her energy levels and enjoyment of her work just by altering the quantity of Pure Working in her feeds. She never gets naughty or silly on it.
