I think Purston is a really nice course, its long with a few hills but the XC is inviting and I would say up to height, (although I am hopless at guessing heights of fences!) The SJ was also good but I seem to remember my dressage areana was slightly uneven but then my horse isn't the most sure footed so it was probs just us! The people who run it are really welcoming and friendly, which I think always helps!!!
I always say it's my favourite Novice level event in the country - incredibly friendly but efficient too, all phases good, XC has slightly old-fashioned feel to it, in a good way, ie you go somewhere then you come back again, over all sorts of terrain IYSWIM (probably not
)
I'm going with nappy baby in PN, only problem he's only had one run since he decided to be un-nappy baby which was Sapey Intro - ages ago now! He was supposed to go to Cleobury Intro this w/e before stepping back up to PN so I'm a bit
now... Only good thing is he did go round it last year in the 5yo class before he started misbehaving so perhaps he'll have happy memories
(Rushes off to enter Brooksby Intro in case not...)
Mine is also in the PN though he had to enter the OPN as couldnt fit him in anywhere else. His dressage is at least up to scratch so shouldnt be intimidated but any ex advanced/novice/ generally snazzier horses in that respect
Just pray he is lion brave XC!! - Pilot has about the longest legs on the circuit so he could pick him up and carry him round hopefully if not!!
We are on the Weds.
