I know what everyone will say with the usual criticism but putting that aside I do like watching Edward ride when it's going like this, he really can sit on a horse. you can see where he's sharpening Totilas up but it's still all quietly happening without a lot of pushing and shoving. I just dream of being able to influence a horse that easily. Wasn't that horse fabulous. he was the start of a sudden ramping up of horsepower in competitive dressage. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely to watch. I first got 'into' watching, and later riding, dressage when Totilas was coming to the fore and he was incredible (though I admit I preferred Fuego at that WEG, even then!). He was such a compact bundle of energy.

Hoping not to start a debate here, but I find it interesting to see this vs. EG's latest cohort of black stallions. Totilas' hind legs are far more underneath him and there's more sit, I find his more recent horses tend to have the hind leg out behind a lot more.

We went to (was it the Europeans, I can't remember now) at Windsor and was striking is that when the top three came in for the medals and they rode round the arena, Totilas was on a long rein with rider waving to the crowd, one of the others was led round and the other passaged his way around. You could also see that when they left the arena he was just as chilled.
