Put my 6YO up on her future horse today....

Ok so before I get pasted for putting my LO up on my 4YO today ...... Ive had my mare for 5mths, and my daughter has been HOUNDING me to get up on her.... obviously safety comes first and today mare was super relaxed so decided to let LO up for the first time! OMG so proud of both of them - LO sat very very quiet & well Miss Twix acted as if she was used to having kids on her back! Know this may seem as a pointless post to many but for us it was a big milestone

Thankfully it will be another 8yrs before I have to hand over the reins

Oh & many of you may know me from confidence forum...... today was really about trusting myself & the horse.... Wish I hadnt put my LO up as all evening she has been asking when she can ride her again!

Well done....lovely pics...!!! And can I (without sounding patronising) also say its lovely to see a child with the correct protective gear on. There are far too many pics of little uns sat on big horses and not so much as even a hat...!!!!

Am super strict when it comes to safety . Hat and backprotector or else she isn't allowed to ride. Can't fathom why any parent would let a child up on a pony or horse without at least a hat.

Redmone! She already has her own pony and rides a number of the riding school ponies as she puts manners of them. ! She got pulled off one pony the other day and got put up on one of the rs 15 handers as novice needed smaller pony! Am in trouble - she loves the bigger horses! Thankfully mare is 16hh so should get another 6yrs at least out of her
