Just to see how he goes in it for fast work& hunting. My gut feeling is that he will be alltogether happier in it, with me riding him off of two reins. I have always preferred the English gag's action to its adapted american&dutch gag. Took him around the walls tonight and he was jumping out of my hands much better than he did in the dutch gag with waterford mouthpiece, which gave him a notion to bounce on the spot before firing into it. I know I wont ever have him settle in one gag, I can put up with alternationg between, now I have each variation of gag plus a lovelyported pelham. Now I know the steering in a dutch gag was rather limited compared to his response I had in a pelham, and, showjumping wise, I was wondering just how the english gag compared to it steering wise? x
