Are Bodeys legs partially heavy or am I just weak ,but I always get a bad back after doing studs? Just re-packed them as may put them in for XC tomorrow (as its been a bit wet). So please any good tips to make life easier?
i don't think there is any way round the back ache really other than paying someone else to do studs for you
i used to do 6 on the lorry at shows and i never really found an easy way of doing it. some horses are more helpful than others and you can persuade some to keep their toe on the ground but some just put their foot down. doing front-hind-front-hind gives your back a bit of a break.
Thanks all, I will try the resting toe thing tomorrow, got a feeling that might take a bit of practice though.
And Spoltchy, if I do that I wont only have a dodgy back, Ill also have a dodgy knee, he, he! Bodey is not easy to put studs in, lazy with his legs, would rather use me to hold him up.
shoot me down very un pony club but on ones I know are going to behave I sit on a bucket!! Last year I had 6/7 to clean out and I would have died if i had to stand for all of them, also much easier to get stones out if you have something to push against!!!
