PUTTING UP STABLES: anyone have any recommendations?

Oh dear, seem to be collecting horses rapidly - and looks like before the winter proper sets in, we're gonna need some more stabling here!!

We have got an area with a concrete plinth already in place as there used to be a cowshed there years ago which we demolished as it was made basically of corrugated iron and was falling to pieces! So I'm guessing we would be OK for Planning?? But don't want to chance anything.

Now am considering putting up two 12' X 12' stables, with mebbe a storage/tack room added on.

Also, am looking at whether "agricultural" steel-framed type buildings might also be suitable...... but don't want to spend too much of a fortune so this might not be viable. But considering any options.

Am looking for recommendations - West Country Stables are based near Sherborne/Yeovil I believe, and have a 12 x 12 single box for £600, erection £150 extra, but not sure of delivery costs. That price sounds good, but don't know about the quality or customer service etc.

Anyone else got any recommendations? People they've used, and are happy with?

(plus any negative feedback if anyone has any about any firms ......)

A colleague at work got a field shelter from Devonshire stables at Winkleigh, she is pleased with it.
I got mine from Burnetts at Stoodleigh. (A local company to me.) It's been up a year and I'm really pleased with it.

We both have 12 x 24 shelters.

A field shelter placed on the concrete pad doesn't need planning app as its not permanant.

Try mike Corcoran timber stables, very reasonable, I have the 24x12 field shelter with two openings so you could use as stables, think was around £750 , we put it up ourselves using sleepers to attach it to but I think mike knows someone who will put it up for you.
