Can anyone tell me best product for this? Am using Equilibrium at the moment - anyone got any comments on their Growth product or Baileys Outshine? Am happy to add one more feed to existing but dont want to enter brand new feeding regime. Thanks

im looking for product for same thing at the moment, iv emailed dengie this morning to see what they can offer advice wise. blue chip is meant to be really good without causing fizziness and from what iv looked at you can just add it to your normal feeding, my problem with that is that i cant find much info on using it with ponies!!

iv used baileys outshine before on a tb x draft, didnt find the results all that great for the price of the product, ended up using alfa oil with him which worked wonders, dont know if it would fit in with your equilibrium though, dengie could advise on that.

feeds@dengie.com is the email address.

we had the people from saracen out early dec and they advised their equijewel product to add calories without fizz. All now looking great and coats shinier too, have spoken to saracen since and have now reduced their equijewel as they have improved and one is distictly chubby!

my friend used equilibriem stuff on her warmblood and it made him hyper!i think the percentage of oats in the pellets is quite high(?)not 100% so dont hold me to it!:Psoya oil is good to put weight on.

blue chip is v good just add cupful to feed, it has feeding amounts on the bag. other thing i have in feed bins is wheatfeed, first time ive used it but someone reccomended it to me for weight without fizz and has helped keep weight on 2 quite fizzy mares that i really strugled with last year. its a bit like bran in its consistency and i always add a lot of water. also agree alfa a and oil great! do you feed sugar beet - the quick release energy in tht can cause 'fizz' use speedi veriety as less molasses

Baileys outshine is designed to go with there feeds I therefore feed their lo-cal balancer with the outshine to a ration that they advise. Apart from this it may be worth while doing Allan and Page's Calm and Condition. I personally would avoid Alfalfa and Sugarbeet. Also be careful of just adding oil as horses need supplementation of another vit/mineral (can't remember which one) to ensure they can absorb the oil and that is what the outshine is designed for. I hope thismakes sense.
