Am selling my horse today and was just wondering if to on the first page put something like

"My name is Katie X, i owned Skye from 2006 to 2010, i would love to keep in contact with Skye so my mobile number is 079********"

So good idea or not? Was just thinking then if she gets sold on people could ring me to find out her history etc? Just random idea after someone mentioned it so ideas please! :)

I think its a good idea - i did it and got a call recently from a new owner, so I know where my old pal is now, and I even asked to to put a note in to say when he is old and grey if noone wants him, he will always have a retirement home with me xx

I'd do it, having kept in contact with all the ponies/horses I've loaned & owned over the years.

My Sec B's passport has something similar written in the back of hers. Like above, 2 previous owners have offered her a home on retirement. I'd do it.

I recently had someone get in touch after buying a horse I had sold. They got my contact details from the passport. They weren't sure whether I would want to know how the horse was or not, but I was really pleased that they got in touch. So I would definitely put something in the passport.

Yes, have done it and will do it again. Esp. for anything that has served me well and I've had to sell on.
