Hi can anyone tell me what make bridle they have that they are pleased with the quality of? I am currently looking for a nice bridle, however on my search have only stumbled across the albion, kieffer, jefferies ranges which are averaging at £200. I know you get what you pay for but has anyone purchased a more reasonably priced good quality bridle that that they are extremely pleased with such as jhl, hkm, rhinegold etc??? Although i would like one that makes a matching breastplate/martingale. thanks x

I have not long got a GFS bridle - the contrast one, black leather with silver binding on the noseband and browband, and it was £50. It is a comfort bridle, and the leather is nice.

Is this one

I really like it, I brought it as a direct replacement for my keiffer bridle, and although the leather isn't quite as nice as Keiffer it's still good. Otherwise, if you're going to badminton, go bridle shopping then - I picked my keiffer there for £100 - although that was a few yars ago now :)

When I was speaking to the lady that runs Bolsterstone Bespoke Bridles last year, I'm sure she said her made to measure bridles started at about £90. The leather work she had made that I was looking at was all very nice and I think I might get one from her next time I need a bridle.

Crikey! I've got two Sabres that are lovely - one has been going probably about 10 years and one was bought last year for new smaller boy. Newest one was £80.

I've got a couple of FSS ones (ebay) - about £60 but come in numerous styles including some less usual ones. I've got a lovely double raised noseband one for my big XFull warmblood. :) Others are more..... individual!! :)Not buttery-soft leather but then neither are some of those you mentioned (probably similar to Sabre) and it is good quality! They are very helpful re sizing too.

If you'd be willing to get a second hand one then there are some gems on ebay! I got a beautiful stubben bridle for less than half the price they are to buy in shops and it had been used so lightly that it looks good as new! I did see some bargain Albion bridles on there too while I was looking, so might be worth a try?

If you prefer to buy new, we bought a Sabre bridle a year or so ago for our other horse and it's gorgeous.

Definately look on Ebay because they've had some Stubben bridles (new ones) for under a hundred on there over the last few months and my stubben bridle was the best i've ever had. They also have some nice English leather bridles (cant remember the brand but its a mans name!) that have an RRP of over £100 and they are selling for around £40/50. I've been saving for one as they are sposed to be really good :)

i've got a nice collegiate bridle (they are made by weatherbeeta) really nice leather and supple from the start. they also do all the separates (spare cheekpieces etc) and they have breastplates/running martingales etc to match. the bridles are normally about £80 i think, but that includes reins :)

I think the collegiate bridles are nice for around £60, good quality leather and look lovely as well with a raised browband and noseband. Hope thats a help :)

I got a JW flash bridle with reins for £61 all in with reins from mole valley farmers. Came within two days of ordering and lovely quality, looks gorgeous on too.

In the end I had one made. I wanted a hunter bridle with flat plain reins. Could I find one!

It cost £80 and is handmade and really good quality English leather. Local saddled did it for me

I've got a Jaguar bridle, here: http://www.thermatex.co.uk/thermatex/Jaguar-Raised-Padded-_Dressage-Bridle.html

I know it's £150 but you get a lot of bridle for your money, it's beautiful leather and really nice and padded. Also if you get one with a grackle nose band its also lovely and padded.

I got it as a gift luckily otherwise I would've baulked at spending that much on a bridle (I normally max out at £30-40!), but now I have it I would definitely get another one if I needed another bridle.

Caldene bridles are very very good for the price (around £70ish) the leather is lovely and soft, they have a comfort headpiece and come with really decent reins. I've had mine about 3 years and seriously rate it!!

I use a kincade flash comfort bridle which is super for everyday use prob cost £35. I've got a plain noseband for showing which cost £15 off ebay.
