Any suggestions on the above? Its for a thin skinned TB who tends to get rubbed by Masta rugs.

ive got the rambo heavyweight supreme and it fits really well on my skinnt tb, and doesnt rub him at all

I am currently liking very much my horseware one. It's the one with a detachable under rug you can get in different weights. But am also using an anti rub vest on alternate days and so far so good.
She's clipped too so would see rubbing quick but looks fine.

Rambo's Rhinos or Amigo both fab, or Mark Todd. Old Dairy saddlery have bvery good prices on the MT at the mo.

Rambo Duo every time..... doesnt rub, slip, leak etc and you can get different liners so goes from a 100g lightweight to a 500g heavyweight just by changing the liner.
Also you can wash the whole lot in the machine at home which saves on sending it away for £15 a time.
Merlin is in his 24/7 for a week between changes. I change the liner each week to wash it and it stops the rug getting all greasy inside, he is always lovely and shiney.
Really easy fastenings and an elastic bit on the tail flap so it doesnt blow up in the wind..... No leg straps so safer......
I could go on but will leave it there!!!!
Oh yes and a three year guarentee against leaks and hardware faliure!

on my TB I have a tescos 300g rug with detachable hood and it is fantastic (no rubs and a dry happy horse!)

Fal are great, the lining is made from slippery material that doesn't rub, in fact it polishes the coat.
I also love the zip fastening. I hate the way conventional hoods with three rings separate from the rug leaving a gap at the base of the neck. With Fal detachables it's just like having an integral neck, but with the option of removing it, and the binding velcroes around the zip so there are no rough edges.

my boy wears his all day and somtimes all night and has been for a couple of months and not a single rub

I use a Mark Todd neck cover with a Weatherbeeta for my AngloArab (can't get much thinner skinned than that!) and neither rubbed. I also have an ordinary Amigo turnout and that doesn't rub either.

Try coating horses mane in funiture polish (or mane and tail if you want to spend a fortune!!) so the rugs slide over it rather than rub.

I applied coat shine then lost a lot of mane - apparently it makes the mane brittle ! as I found out to my cost. But then again I think it depends on the type of mane your horse has. Hers is very corse.

Not had any rubbing probs with WB rugs and necks.
Ive got a Rambo Duo (with detachable neck on) just now, but TBH Im surprised at how un-generous the necks are! On my slim TB, the neck is really a little on the neat side. Wouldn't even do up round my Welsh D's neck!! Ive only just put the neck bit on so am unsure if it rubs yet... But Im planning to put on his Snuggy Turnout hood underneath just in case.
