Hey just wondered if anyone has experience of Quendon Dressage which is run by Heather Young in Essex?
Hoping to have regular lessons on established horses to progress my riding separately from lessons on my own horse who is quite green.
It would be great to know if anyone rides there and whether or not they found it useful?

Have had lessons with Heather and really enjoyed them. The horses are lovely and Heather is strict but in a nice way. I don't subscribe to trainers who are nasty or scream and shout when I'm hopeless as it doesn't help me at all, Heather isn't like that at all.

Oh I agree, I am not pretending to be a great dressage rider which is exactly why I am trying to improve:)
Great that is really good to know, how regularly do you ride with her.

I'd thoroughly recommend Heather and her team of horses. I had two lessons with her before going abroad to sharpen up my riding and feel I did just that! I find she is really patient and wants to achieve your goals with you. Both the horses I rode were super and are proper schoolmasters (not push button; they teach you to ride also and you get results!). I'd happily go back to her.

I rode there a few times a week as a sort of boot camp for a while last year until I didn't have the time to anymore! Keep meaning to book in to go back, I really enjoyed it and gave me a great understanding of how higher level moments are supposed to feel. Although I think I gave Heather a headache when she tried to teach me canter half pass as the analogy she used was that the horse should be the shape of a banana- I hate bananas so found it hard to picture what she meant, it caused a lot of laughter on both out parts trying to make it clear to me!

Brilliant thanks for the info, I have now had a lesson and found it so useful.
The horse was great but it definitely showed me up as if you aren't asking properly it doesn't happen!
I ached all over the day after.
Definitely planning to head back for more lessons.

Glad you enjoyed it! And I had the same problem, was asking horse to do all sorts of things except the right thing! Who did you ride? Lucci was my favourite!!
