question about Bates AP saddle

I have a brand new saddle, just had it fitted to my 3yr old but when I do the girth up it seems to go up to 4 on the front girth strap but only 3 of the back strap, is that normal? or just where the leather is really stiff?

Maybe not due to the leather but because of your horses belly being bigger towards the back? Mine looks in foal at the moment (definitely isn't) and the girth straps being a few inches apart makes all the difference!

Ah ok. Yes that makes sense actually. The girth straps are quite far apart compared to my mares wintec
