Question about colic - pawing

First off apologies for the cr*p title, I really didn't know what to put and that was the nearest I could get

Before kenny coliced his bed was always immaculate when I went to muck out - poos all along the back and the rest pretty much the same bar a bit scattered near the front where he goes to the door etc.

One reason we knew he was uncomfortable before the colic got worse was his bed was a state! It's a full shavings bed with banks and it was just dug up everywhere.

He's now back and fully recovered, and 100 times happier now his lavage that never worked has been removed (that's another story). His bed is back to how it was, all neat, bar one corner were everyday since he came home on Friday has been dug up completely.. Am I just worrying? I know he's not colicky anymore but could his stomach still be a bit tender and that's why he's doing it? Or do you reckon it's just a new habit?

my horse that colicedoccasionally does this, I would just be really careful with your horses diet wise and keep a very close eye to make sure its nothing serious!

It's something to keep an eye on, but that's all you can really do.

I'm still very conscious that my boy managed to put through his stable window (not glass) two nights before I lost him to colic. It wasn't like him to trash his stable, at all. At the time, I assumed he'd just had enough of being stabled at night and wanted out as most of the others were. Now, I'm not so sure... but there were no other symptoms.

If it's not normal, keep an eye.
