If a mare was naturally covered 2 yrs ago would it mean she could still have a sore back? i mean if nothing was done between then and now?

It depends on how bad the covering was and if she has damaged something that is making her use herself ie her muscles in the wrong way.

Covering can be quite a difficult situation, what do you mean by natural - do you mean they were in a field and left to it? or do you mean mare was held and stallion mounted her whilst being held?

i'm not entirely sure, as i didn't own her then, i have had the back man out to her twice in 5 weeks (first time i called him, second time he was on the yard for another horses so asked him to look at her) both times she was sore but not from tack related issues (i am going to have my saddle checked on wednesday anyway) he thinks its an injury she sustain a few years ago. this is the only thing i know about her, pus she has scars on her back which we were told were rain scald that was never treated properly.

just trying to figure out in my head what could have happened to her, i know she was badly treated in the past, from the state she was when i got her.
