Question about names and rules...

I'm just in the process of getting Pip's FEI passport sorted. He already has one, and his name on theis is Templedruid Pippin. The problem is we know he isn't a templedruid pony

and his old owners just put it on becasue that was Ginga's breeding. Templeduid Stud definately didn't breed him, PLUS I don't really like the name so do you think I can change his name or would this cause problems

What passport does he already have? Generally speaking they dont like you to have passports in different names as it defeats the point of making it law to register their horses.

He has a petsomething one but when he gets his new one what do we do with the old one?

An old passport that is no longer current or required should be returned to the issuing authority, since they actually 'own' it.

So Could I get a new one, not have to show the Vet the old one and just send the old one back...

I have just got an FEI covering passport and his old passport has been attached with this at the back. But if completely new FEI one I don't know, but once a names on an FEI passpot its well over £500 to change it!!!
