Are you jumping your horses on this ground at the moment?
i am a little reluctant (i might just be being a pansy:o) but i am getting a little impatient in waiting for some rain to soften the ground:rolleyes:.
any hints/tips how you get by when you dont have access to a surface at home/yard?:)

Thank you Pancoga

Nope but then our field needs harrowing and rolling first! I probably wouldn't jump mine on it though at the moment unless I had a good covering of grass. It's just a little too hard. If I needed to jump then I would hire a local arena. It's not often we're in this situation though so I don't imagine it'll last too much longer. I don't find I have to jump mine that often anyway to be honest.

I don't have an arena, and yes I am still jumping! But I am fortunate that I have one paddock that always remains good; doesn't get wet when the weather is bad and doesn't get too dry when it's hot! I did a xc training on the weekned, and the ground was fine there too.

unfortunaltely i dont have an arena either, the ground at mine is like concrete so definately wouldnt jump on it, also i find it too hard and not enough grip to do much more than walking in it. this is an absolute pain as showing season is creeping up and i have no where to school my horse either. from time to time i take them to a friends yard to use the arena but its a fair way and costs a bit in fuel. it seems its either too wet or too hard!!

No but have no fences out at the moment. While ground is firm we have a super cover of grass and are not having any ill effects though we are religiously walking horses in sea for 20mins after work so that is prob helping!
