Can you soak it over night? i.e put the pellets in feed bowl with a bit of water and leave it overnight for brekkie in the morning? (ad chaff e.t.c in the morning)

I am finding that it is now taking longer to soak as it is colder and need more of it! But I dont want her to wait 10-15 minutes while it soaks. She wouldn't mind as she isn't a door kicker, but thought it would be better for her to get brekkie straight away and gives my morning helper less time faffing about waiting for it to soak and I want it soaked properly.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yeah, I think you can. I would just wet it a bit before feeding it to her as although the pellets will have absorbed the water, it will have dried out overnight, so would dampen her feed as you do with any other feed.

It depends on which A&P feed you use. But we use Calm and Condition at work and soak morning feeds at teatime the night before with no issue. So i see no reason why not!

I would agree that you should probably wet it a little bit in the morning!

I have in the past fed calm and condition, there is no harm in soaking it over night, I have done so with no problems, I now feed ride and relax, which does actually take a fair bit longer to absorb the water, so I measure it out in the morning, after mucking out etc, and don't feed it until the evening and again, it's fine, hope this is helpful ;):D

I use Fast Fibre, my horses are fed twice a day, and after I have fed I usually put the next feed into soak. No problem with it unless the weather is very warm (which it definitely isn't now)!
