I just picked up a medium hay hutch I won on ebay. There is one part with a body with 3 holes and a base and then the guy has another body with 3 holes and the lid screwed on it and this sits on top of the bottom body bit. As far as I can tell it is in fact 2 hay hutch bodies and what I need is just another lid and base to complete the second one - in which case bonus two for the price of one!! I've posted a picture so that you can see what I mean. And to think he was going to take it down to the tip!!! Am I right and it is in fact 2 hutches?

Twist and lift the lid off the one on the left and put it on the one on the right = one hutch and spare part.

That's what I thought - hoping I can get at least another lid from somewhere else to make a second one for my other horse. Nice surprise though. The lid does fit the other one as we had to take it all apart to put it in the car and I tried it on to see. Didn't think it looked right stacked on top of each other. The guy bought it to keep his baby chicks in at night time but they didnt use it.

Mine have bigger square holes. Not that it matters but those holes look better than mine as they just pull (unsoaked) hay out everywhere! I use them with the lids off now.

I use my one without its lid in the stable so Ben can eat from the top of it, perhaps you could create a base for the one, and use it this way.
