Had licence since 1978, I drive 3.5 lorry, can I put a tow bar on the back and pull a small trailer to carry my driving carriage. Lorry is Renault master conversion 3yr old.

I would be very surprised if you can't (think of worksmen/builders towing heavy bits of kit behind their white vans.... In the eyes of the law I dont thino the content of the trailer/van matter)x

I regularly see a Renault master horsebox towing a horse trailer at shows - think they sold their lorry but still manage to take 4 ponies that way!!

My friend had a 3.5T and put a caravan on the back. She was pulled and escorted to the police weighbridge. She was over the payload and had to offload caravan to carry on her way :o.

She had an 'old' license.

I'm sure ROG will come with the numbers soon :)

It may all come down to the maximum train weight of the towing vehicle as to whether you have the capacity to tow with it, as far as your drivers licence goes you would probably be ok with a combination up to 7.5t but really need to look closely at the groups on it to be certain
