Question for the colour / ginetic gurus...

Never paid it a lot of thought, but having just realised that my horse's mum is called 'Ginger Annie', one might assume she is chestnut. His sire is Ros Rebel (dapple grey ID). Could the chestnut colour account for this?..

...and is he grey? Or roan as his passport states?? (Sorry, Friday afternoon boredom)

And that isn't poo stain at the bottom of his tail, (a little inconveniently) it is actually that colour

Well he's definitely going grey and is not roan. Difficult to tell his previous colour but he could have been chestnut yes.

Grey with a red tint like that is often referred to as rose grey but he will eventually get lighter until his coat is much whiter
